First up is this killer lineup Sunday\, February 25th with GODDAMNIT\, FIVE HUNDRED BUCKS\, TAKE TODAY and SOLD. \nWith equal parts punk\, post-hardcore and indie rock\, Goddamnit released their latest effort\, All This Time Is Yours Now\, in 2022 on Creep Records\, arguably one of the longest running and most important punk labels from Philly. Often compared to and taking queues from contemporaries like Hot Water Music and Quicksand\, fans of bands like Jawbreaker or Drive Like Jehu should be quick to give this band their due attention. \nFeaturing former members of The Holy Mess and Captain\, We’re Sinking\, Five Hundred Bucks is fronted by Jeff Riddle\, known not only for his time in The Holy Mess\, but also as one of the members of the fictional band Duh from the cult comedy-horror movie Uncle Peckerhead. With a knack for introspective lyrics and storytelling\, 500 Hundred Bucks’ sound isn’t unfamiliar to fans of bands like The Hold Steady or Riddle’s The Holy Mess. \nWhile not know as a ska band\, New Jersey’s Take Today has been known to dabble in the dark arts of the upbeat… but don’t be fooled\, their sound is squarely grounded in melody and driving guitars played at a high volume. \nSold is a four-piece Philly outfit that sits at home next to a Joy Division LP as much as some wax from Death From Above 1979.
