DESCRIPTION:FW Shows and Broken Goblet present this killer ska party Friday\, May 17th with Matamoska\, Bumsy and the Moochers\, Thirsty Guys\, Call Me Malcolm\, and Backyard Superheroes. \nFormed during the infancy of Los Angeles’ ghetto Ska-Punk movement and  considered “OG’s” of the current Ska movement\, MATAMOSKA has gained notariety in the underground ska scene since 2000 for their  signature mix of styles\, sounds\, influences\, and languages. Following the release of their demo\, Matamoska!: Ghetto Ska in April of 2001\, the band developed a  dedicated following and singles like “Problema Sin Solucion” and “Soledad”  were featured on various Ska compilation albums such as Smelvis Records’  Backyard City Rockers (2002) and Obscene Records’ Keeping the Spirit  Alive (2002). Over the past two decades the band the band has released several EPs and LPs to much fanfare and continue to be a driving force in the Los Angeles ska scene. \nChicago’s Bumsy and the Moochers have been bringing their brand of relentless ska punk to the masses since 2012 and continue to support their 2022 release Diet Violence with steady diet of shows and touring. \nNew Jersey’s Thirsty Guys dropped their debut LP\, …Out to Lunch!\, on Bad Time Records last year but have stayed relatively under the radar\, but that’s sure to change real soon. \nBackyard Superheroes have been a staple on the Jersey/Philly ska scene for the better part of the last decade with standout releases like 2018’s Never Give Up\, Never Surrender. \nThe UKs Call Me Malcolm hit the US in support of their upcoming Bad Time LP\, Echos and Ghosts which drops in March. \nDoors 6:30PM\, 18+ to Enter\, Advance Tickets are $18 and $23 Day of Show

Advance tickets are $25 and are on sale NOW! \nFormed in 1989 by Ray Cappo after the breakup of Youth of Today\, Shelter gained notoriety for blending hardcore punk with elements of Eastern spirituality and philosophy\, particularly drawing inspiration from the teachings of the Hare Krishna movement. Cappo’s conversion to the movement significantly influenced Shelter’s lyrical themes and overall message with the band often incorporating spiritual and positive messages in their lyrics\, promoting concepts such as vegetarianism\, non-violence\, and self-realization. Noteable and important releases like Perfection of Desire (1990)\, Attaining the Supreme (1993)\, and When 20 Summers Pass (2000)\, the band has long been regarded as one of the most important to come out of the NY hardcore scene. \nWith Civ\, former frontman for the influential band Gorilla Biscuits\, Anthony ‘Civ’ Civarelli brought a melodic edge to hardcore\, blending punk rock energy with catchy hooks and anthemic choruses with the release of their debut album\, Set Your Goals in 1995. The album showcased the band’s signature sound\, featuring melodic guitar riffs\, and Civ’s distinctive vocal delivery with songs “Can’t Wait One Minute More” and “Choices Made”. DESCRIPTION:FW Shows and Broken Goblet are excited to bring legendary English rockers GIRLSCHOOL with a date on their final US tour with support from Lillian Axe and Alcatrazz. Doors are 6:30PM and tickets are $40 in Advance and $45 Day of Show. \nGirlschool originated from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal Scene in 1978 and are frequently associated with contemporaries and friends Motörhead. They are the longest running all-female rock band from the UK\, still active after 45 years. \nFormed from a school band called Painted Lady by Kim McAuliffe and Enid Williams\, Girlschool enjoyed strong media exposure and commercial success in the U.K. in the early 1980s with three albums of ‘punk-tinged metal’ and a few singles. \n In the 1990s and 2000s\, they concentrated their efforts on live shows and tours\, reducing considerably the production of studio albums. During their long career Girlschool has toured all over the world\, performing at many of the biggest rock and metal festivals as well as co-headlining with or supporting some of the most important hard rock and heavy metal bands in the genre. They maintain a worldwide cult following and are considered an inspiration for many succeeding female rock musicians\, such as The Donnas. \nOriginal members Kim McAuliffe\, Denise (Drench) Dufort are still in the band to this day\, original member lead guitarist /vocalist/songwriter Kelly Johnson died of cancer in 2007 and was replaced by lead guitarist/songwriter Jackie (Jax) Chambers in 1999.  In Jan 2019 Girlschool parted ways once again with bassist Enid Williams\, making way for the return of Tracey Lamb (formerly of Rock Goddess and Girlschool 1987-1991 & 1993-2000) solidifying the bands lineup for future live shows and recordings. \nIn 2023 FORTY-FIVE years young\, the British hard rock royalty came out swinging with their 14th studio album WTFortyfive?\, an outstanding and deliciously dirty declaration that age is a number that shows how much real raw attitude you have when it really counts. Often compared to and taking queues from contemporaries like Hot Water Music and Quicksand\, fans of bands like Jawbreaker or Drive Like Jehu should be quick to give this band their due attention. \nFeaturing former members of The Holy Mess and Captain\, We’re Sinking\, Five Hundred Bucks is fronted by Jeff Riddle\, known not only for his time in The Holy Mess\, but also as one of the members of the fictional band Duh from the cult comedy-horror movie Uncle Peckerhead. With a knack for introspective lyrics and storytelling\, 500 Hundred Bucks’ sound isn’t unfamiliar to fans of bands like The Hold Steady or Riddle’s The Holy Mess. \nWhile not know as a ska band\, New Jersey’s Take Today has been known to dabble in the dark arts of the upbeat… but don’t be fooled\, their sound is squarely grounded in melody and driving guitars played at a high volume. \nSold is a four-piece Philly outfit that sits at home next to a Joy Division LP as much as some wax from Death From Above 1979.
