SUMMARY:NERVER
DESCRIPTION:FW Shows and Broken Goblet present Nerver with Oh\, Are They? and Last Century.\n\n\n \n\n\nUnfortunately\, Whores. had to reschedule dates on their Fall tour due to a medical emergency\, but Nerver is continuing on so we’ve put together a great lineup featuring Philly locals Oh\, Are They? and Last Century.\n\n\n \n\n\nNerver’s brand of fuzzed out Midwest distortion driven post-hardcore/riff metal wouldn’t be out of place in the PNW in the late 90s with heavy influences from other notable bands like K.A.R.P and Big Business. Their 2022 release ‘Cash’ hits like a baseball bat across the head and doesn’t let up.\n\n\n \n\n\nOh\, Are They? bring their brand of heavy Dischord records vibes to Broken Goblet and will surely be playing tracks off their outstanding new LP Guilt.\n\n\n \n\n\nPhilly’s Last Century bring the heavy riffs and fuzzed out post-hardcore that at times reminds me of Seaweed if Seaweed played through a stage full of full stacks and a TurboRat.\n\n\n \n\n\nDoors 7PM\, Must be 18+ to Enter\, FREE ADMISSION

SUMMARY:THE HILLBILLY MOON EXPOLSION
DESCRIPTION:FW Shows and Broken Goblet present The Hillbilly Moon Explosion and Screamin’ Rebel Angels for an eclectic night of Rock n’ Roll\, Rockabilly\, Swing and more! \nSwiss rockabilly combo\, the Hillbilly Moon Explosion exists in the middle ground between the traditionalism of many rockabilly revival bands and the rougher\, spookier sound of psychobilly. Founded by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Emanuela Hutter and bassist/vocalist Oliver Baroni\, their music has more than its share of retro twang\, with Hutter’s polished\, enigmatic singing blending with the sometimes raucous\, sometimes moody guitar lines\, and they add dashes of punk\, lounge pop\, country\, and even ska to season their evocative mix. The band staked out their trademark sound on 2002’s Introducing the Hillbilly Moon Explosion\, they fully hit their creative stride on 2011’s Buy Beg or Steal\, collaborated with psychobilly veteran Mark “Sparky” Phillips for 2019’s The Sparky Sessions\, and showed off their rocking and sultry sides on 2024’s Back in Time. \nScreamin’ Rebel Angels’ unrelenting and infectious original Rock ‘n Roll has kept the dance floors pulsing\, and roofs rattling across stages\, airwaves and turntables around the globe since 2011. Hailing from Brooklyn\, NY\, this trio’s untamed live performances are high-octane adventures that invoke the primitive energy of 1950s Rock ‘n Roll infused with the soul of early Rhythm & Blues\, and invigorated with the raw power of garage punk. \nNew Jersey Psychobilly outfit The Atomic Bats get a rowdy night of swingin’ Rock ‘n Roll started. \nDoors 7PM\, 18+ to Enter\, Advance Tickets $20\, Day of Show $25

SUMMARY:SAVE FERRIS
DESCRIPTION:FW Shows and Broken Goblet present a Summer ska party with SAVE FERRIS! \nFormed in 1995\, Save Ferris remains one of the seminal and most beloved bands from the third wave of ska. The group’s Orange County home was fertile  ground for a thriving underground scene. The group’s humble beginnings saw them play house parties and local venues\, powered by Monique Powell’s high-octane vocals and their live show instantly became a hit. As word spread\, the band got a much-needed boost from legendary KROQ DJ; Rodney Bingenheimer\, who got a hold of the band’s self-released album. He played their cover of Dexys Midnight Runners “Come on Eileen” on his Rodney on the ROQ show and the response was overwhelming. Soon thereafter\, Kevin Weatherly picked up the song and it was added to the legendary taste-making rock station’s rotation. All of this happened independently without a record label and with Powell serving as the singer and band manager. Major labels started noticing the buzz that was emanating from Orange County and inn 1996\, the band won a Grammy showcase award for best unsigned band\, and with Epic Records’ David Massey as one of the judges. Save Ferris would later sign with the label and Epic re-released the Introducing Save Ferris EP and\, in 1997\, Save Ferris unleashed their debut album\, It Means Everything. Save Ferris toured the world for the better part of the next six years\, with 1999’s Modified released during that time. \nIn 2016\, Powell and her bandmates went into the studio to record a new EP. Titled Checkered Past\, the collection was released the following year\, and produced by John Avila of Oingo Boingo and featured an appearance by Neville Staple of The Specials\, one of Powell’s favorite artists. \nSupport from Kings of the Wild Things and The What Nows?! \nDoors 7PM\, must be 18 or older to enter with a valid ID\, Advance Tickets $25\, Day of Show $30.

SUMMARY:SHELTER & CIV
DESCRIPTION:PhillyShows\, FW Shows\, and Broken Goblet present NYHC legends Shelter and Civ with Special Guests\, Friday\, April 5th for an All Ages show at Broken Goblet in Bensalem\, PA. Advance tickets are $25 and are on sale NOW! \nFormed in 1989 by Ray Cappo after the breakup of Youth of Today\, Shelter gained notoriety for blending hardcore punk with elements of Eastern spirituality and philosophy\, particularly drawing inspiration from the teachings of the Hare Krishna movement. Cappo’s conversion to the movement significantly influenced Shelter’s lyrical themes and overall message with the band often incorporating spiritual and positive messages in their lyrics\, promoting concepts such as vegetarianism\, non-violence\, and self-realization. Noteable and important releases like Perfection of Desire (1990)\, Attaining the Supreme (1993)\, and When 20 Summers Pass (2000)\, the band has long been regarded as one of the most important to come out of the NY hardcore scene. \nWith Civ\, former frontman for the influential band Gorilla Biscuits\, Anthony ‘Civ’ Civarelli brought a melodic edge to hardcore\, blending punk rock energy with catchy hooks and anthemic choruses with the release of their debut album\, Set Your Goals in 1995. The album showcased the band’s signature sound\, featuring melodic guitar riffs\, and Civ’s distinctive vocal delivery with songs “Can’t Wait One Minute More” and “Choices Made”. With a lineup made of NYHC standouts\, it’s no big secret why Civ has made a lasting impressing on the hardcore scene. \nSpecial Guests to be announced. \n \nDoors are 6:30 PM / All Ages/ Advance Tickets $25 and $30 Day of Show

SUMMARY:GIRLSCHOOL
DESCRIPTION:FW Shows and Broken Goblet are excited to bring legendary English rockers GIRLSCHOOL with a date on their final US tour with support from Lillian Axe and Alcatrazz. Doors are 6:30PM and tickets are $40 in Advance and $45 Day of Show. \nGirlschool originated from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal Scene in 1978 and are frequently associated with contemporaries and friends Motörhead. They are the longest running all-female rock band from the UK\, still active after 45 years. \nFormed from a school band called Painted Lady by Kim McAuliffe and Enid Williams\, Girlschool enjoyed strong media exposure and commercial success in the U.K. in the early 1980s with three albums of ‘punk-tinged metal’ and a few singles. \n In the 1990s and 2000s\, they concentrated their efforts on live shows and tours\, reducing considerably the production of studio albums. During their long career Girlschool has toured all over the world\, performing at many of the biggest rock and metal festivals as well as co-headlining with or supporting some of the most important hard rock and heavy metal bands in the genre. They maintain a worldwide cult following and are considered an inspiration for many succeeding female rock musicians\, such as The Donnas. \nOriginal members Kim McAuliffe\, Denise (Drench) Dufort are still in the band to this day\, original member lead guitarist /vocalist/songwriter Kelly Johnson died of cancer in 2007 and was replaced by lead guitarist/songwriter Jackie (Jax) Chambers in 1999.  In Jan 2019 Girlschool parted ways once again with bassist Enid Williams\, making way for the return of Tracey Lamb (formerly of Rock Goddess and Girlschool 1987-1991 & 1993-2000) solidifying the bands lineup for future live shows and recordings. \nIn 2023 FORTY-FIVE years young\, the British hard rock royalty came out swinging with their 14th studio album WTFortyfive?\, an outstanding and deliciously dirty declaration that age is a number that shows how much real raw attitude you have when it really counts. Kim\, Denise\, Jackie and Tracey leave the grit under their finger nails and the scuzz on their crusty leather boots as they riff and stomp their way through 12 statements of intent showing major attitude\, some great melodies\, and a consistent crunch to every guitar. \n \nDoors at 6:30pm / 18+ to Enter / Advance Tickets $40

SUMMARY:PUNK ROCK MATINEE
DESCRIPTION:FW Shows and Broken Goblet are excited to bring you the first in what we hope are semi-regular ALL AGES SUNDAY MATINEES focusing on supporting local and up and coming touring bands as much as possible. First up is this killer lineup Sunday\, February 25th with GODDAMNIT\, FIVE HUNDRED BUCKS\, TAKE TODAY and SOLD. \nWith equal parts punk\, post-hardcore and indie rock\, Goddamnit released their latest effort\, All This Time Is Yours Now\, in 2022 on Creep Records\, arguably one of the longest running and most important punk labels from Philly. Often compared to and taking queues from contemporaries like Hot Water Music and Quicksand\, fans of bands like Jawbreaker or Drive Like Jehu should be quick to give this band their due attention. \nFeaturing former members of The Holy Mess and Captain\, We’re Sinking\, Five Hundred Bucks is fronted by Jeff Riddle\, known not only for his time in The Holy Mess\, but also as one of the members of the fictional band Duh from the cult comedy-horror movie Uncle Peckerhead. With a knack for introspective lyrics and storytelling\, 500 Hundred Bucks’ sound isn’t unfamiliar to fans of bands like The Hold Steady or Riddle’s The Holy Mess. \nWhile not know as a ska band\, New Jersey’s Take Today has been known to dabble in the dark arts of the upbeat… but don’t be fooled\, their sound is squarely grounded in melody and driving guitars played at a high volume. \nSold is a four-piece Philly outfit that sits at home next to a Joy Division LP as much as some wax from Death From Above 1979. Their 2022 release\, New Wind\, is a hard hitting rock record with equal parts New Wave and Punk spirit. \nDoors 3PM / All Ages / $10 at the Door / SUPPORT THE SCENE!
