SUMMARY:MATES OF STATE
DESCRIPTION:FW Shows and Broken Goblet present Mates of State with special guest Toth on their Somewhere Tour 2025! \nKori Gardner is one of the best female singers in modern music (and husband Jason is also no slouch). Their style is iconic – the effortless way their voices harmonize and volley back and forth\, the movements within the song\, the way they move from upbeat to pastoral so fluidly that you don’t perceive it happening. Their instruments and voices all move as one piece\, inseparable. \nThrough the years\, the textures have become more intricate\, deeper. They’ve begun throwing in the occasional trumpet or guitar\, but it is still stunning how much they can do with just keyboards and drums. They move so far within the limitations of the two-piece format that you can’t even call it a limitation. It feels as natural as the standard rock-and-roll four-piece. \nMates garnered a rabid following beginning in 1998 and toured nearly non-stop for 15 years\, performing all over the world including runs with NPR’s This American Life\, The Postal Service\, The Strokes\, Jimmy Eat World\, Santigold and Death Cab for Cutie. They’ve also been seen on David Letterman\, Coachella\, Lollapalooza\, Conan O’Brien\, and Yo Gabba Gabba. \nMates’ have released 7 full length albums (on labels including Barsuk and Polyvinyl) while simultaneously starting a family of 3 daughters(!) who travelled the world with them on tour. The Mates’ paused touring from 2019-2024 to “give their girls a bit of an anchor through their teenage years”\, while continuing to write and explore to find their next musical phase. Then\, in the summertime of 2024\, they resumed full-on with a 17-date tour (in 17 days!). A new album will follow in 2025. \nTōth’s live show features catchy\, unique and deeply personal songwriting\, trumpet solos & wild grooves. On his second solo album as Tōth\, You And Me And Everything\, Rubblebucket cofounder Alex Toth embarks on a journey of transformation and self-discovery. Surrounded by cascading folk rock\, celebratory horns\, and jaunty piano. From the “why not?” attitude that drives the celebratory “I Might Be” to the vivid imagery that positions “Turnaround (Cocaine Song)” as one of his strongest lyrical efforts yet\, Tōth uses his latest album to push himself as both a musician and a person. Mixed by Grammy-winning producer Noah Georgeson (Joanna Newsom\, Devendra Banhart\, Cate Le Bon)\, the album brings to mind the heartfelt vulnerability of Arthur Russell\, the woozy jazz of Chet Baker\, and the playful melodic breadth of the Beach Boys. The only thing we know for sure about love is that it’s an adventure. On You And Me And Everything\, Tōth comes to terms with that truth and invites you to join him on the unpredictable\, fulfilling ride. \nDoors 7PM\, 18+ to Enter\, Advance Tickets $25\, $30 Day of Show.

DESCRIPTION:FW Shows and Broken Goblet present Relapse Records recording artists 16 with support from False Gods\, New Dawn Fades\, and High Leaf. \n16 is an American sludge metal band from Southern California and released their latest effort and ninth LP\, Into Dust\, on Relapse Records in 2022. 30 years after their debut\, 16 feels as punishing as ever and geographical isolation has allowed the band to meld 90s alt rock into their sound different than other contemporary sludge bands from New Orleans and the American South. \nNew York’s False Gods are known for their unique blend of sludge/doom metal mixed with melodic noise and down-trodden hardcore. Their 2022 release Neurotopia is a well developed mix of traditional sludge metal and New York City hardcore\, both gritty and a bit confrontational with their approach\, but heavy while not being oppressive. \nPhiladelphia’s New Dawn Fades and High Leaf bring their Psych and Stoner riff metal along for the ride. \nDoors 7PM\, Must be 18+ to Enter\, Advance Tickets $15\, $20 Day of Show

SUMMARY:MUSTARD PLUG & CATCH 22
DESCRIPTION:FW Shows and Broken Goblet present Mustard Plug and Catch 22 with The Iron Roses and The Manipulators! \nVeteran ska-punk outfit Mustard Plug return to Broken Goblet in support of their latest release Where Did All My Friends Go? on Bad Time Records. Formed in Grand Rapids\, Michigan in 1991\, The Plug is known for their high-energy live shows and ability to meld ska\, punk\, and reggae influences with pop harmonies and catchy horn lines. Considered one of the pioneers of the ska-punk scene in the United States\, their music often features poignant lyrics that deal with social commentary and takes on modern day life. \nFrom the swamps of New Jersey\, Catch 22 emerged in 1996 with their own brand of ska-punk featuring ska\, punk\, and hardcore influences to create their unique sound. While the band hasn’t released a new full-length release since 2006\, recent activity and touring may just be leading to the release of new music sometime soon. In the meantime\, records like Keasby Nights and Alone in a Crowd are essential\, must have ska-punk releases. \nFormed and fronted by Boy Sets Fire’s Nathan Gray\, The Iron Roses are a departure from Gray’s previous output and meld catchy\, driving punk and ska into inspiring anthemic protest songs. \nPhilly’s The Manipulators bring the ruckus with their first full-length release Natural Disaster and will no doubt get the party started right. \nDoors 6:30 PM\, Must be 18+ to Enter\, Advance Tickets $22\, Day of Show $27.

SUMMARY:THE HILLBILLY MOON EXPOLSION
DESCRIPTION:FW Shows and Broken Goblet present The Hillbilly Moon Explosion and Screamin’ Rebel Angels for an eclectic night of Rock n’ Roll\, Rockabilly\, Swing and more! \nSwiss rockabilly combo\, the Hillbilly Moon Explosion exists in the middle ground between the traditionalism of many rockabilly revival bands and the rougher\, spookier sound of psychobilly. Founded by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Emanuela Hutter and bassist/vocalist Oliver Baroni\, their music has more than its share of retro twang\, with Hutter’s polished\, enigmatic singing blending with the sometimes raucous\, sometimes moody guitar lines\, and they add dashes of punk\, lounge pop\, country\, and even ska to season their evocative mix. The band staked out their trademark sound on 2002’s Introducing the Hillbilly Moon Explosion\, they fully hit their creative stride on 2011’s Buy Beg or Steal\, collaborated with psychobilly veteran Mark “Sparky” Phillips for 2019’s The Sparky Sessions\, and showed off their rocking and sultry sides on 2024’s Back in Time. \nScreamin’ Rebel Angels’ unrelenting and infectious original Rock ‘n Roll has kept the dance floors pulsing\, and roofs rattling across stages\, airwaves and turntables around the globe since 2011. Hailing from Brooklyn\, NY\, this trio’s untamed live performances are high-octane adventures that invoke the primitive energy of 1950s Rock ‘n Roll infused with the soul of early Rhythm & Blues\, and invigorated with the raw power of garage punk. \nNew Jersey Psychobilly outfit The Atomic Bats get a rowdy night of swingin’ Rock ‘n Roll started. \nDoors 7PM\, 18+ to Enter\, Advance Tickets $20\, Day of Show $25

SUMMARY:SAVE FERRIS
DESCRIPTION:FW Shows and Broken Goblet present a Summer ska party with SAVE FERRIS! \nFormed in 1995\, Save Ferris remains one of the seminal and most beloved bands from the third wave of ska. The group’s Orange County home was fertile  ground for a thriving underground scene. The group’s humble beginnings saw them play house parties and local venues\, powered by Monique Powell’s high-octane vocals and their live show instantly became a hit. As word spread\, the band got a much-needed boost from legendary KROQ DJ; Rodney Bingenheimer\, who got a hold of the band’s self-released album. He played their cover of Dexys Midnight Runners “Come on Eileen” on his Rodney on the ROQ show and the response was overwhelming. Soon thereafter\, Kevin Weatherly picked up the song and it was added to the legendary taste-making rock station’s rotation. All of this happened independently without a record label and with Powell serving as the singer and band manager. Major labels started noticing the buzz that was emanating from Orange County and inn 1996\, the band won a Grammy showcase award for best unsigned band\, and with Epic Records’ David Massey as one of the judges. Save Ferris would later sign with the label and Epic re-released the Introducing Save Ferris EP and\, in 1997\, Save Ferris unleashed their debut album\, It Means Everything. Save Ferris toured the world for the better part of the next six years\, with 1999’s Modified released during that time. \nIn 2016\, Powell and her bandmates went into the studio to record a new EP. Titled Checkered Past\, the collection was released the following year\, and produced by John Avila of Oingo Boingo and featured an appearance by Neville Staple of The Specials\, one of Powell’s favorite artists. \nSupport from Kings of the Wild Things and The What Nows?! \nDoors 7PM\, must be 18 or older to enter with a valid ID\, Advance Tickets $25\, Day of Show $30.
